Gov. Wike offers physically-challenged PhD graduate N50m, automatic employment
Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike has honoured a student living with disability, James E. Daniel, with N50 million and automatic teaching appointment at Rivers State University.
Daniel recently bagged a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from the state institution and the governor decided to reward him.
Wike made the announcement during the 33rd convocation of the Rivers State University, Port Harcourt on Saturday, December 4, The Independent added.
According to him, Dr. Daniel’s honour was in recognition of his academic excellence as well as being a source of inspiration to persons living with disabilities.
Speaking further, Wike warned all Rivers State-owned universities to stop indiscriminate conferment of doctoral degrees on all manner of questionable candidates and people of material influence.
